31 March 2026

This year, Kids Helpline. turned 35.

That’s 35 years of answering calls, giving advice, and quietly making sure no young person feels alone.

Think about what that really means.

Kids Helpline is older than the World Wide Web. In fact, someone who called Kids Helpline in 1991 could be turning 53 this year. And we share a birth-year with the movie My Girl – it’s been 35 years and we’re still not over that ending.

Are you feeling old yet? We certainly are.

From phone boxes to instant messaging, a lot has changed in 35 years. But one thing remains the same – Kids Helpline is still there for children and young people across Australia. Anytime, any reason.

And thanks to supporters like you, when they reach out, someone is there to answer.

Because sometimes, a single conversation can change everything.

"I’m so grateful that I decided to speak to Kids Helpline. Never for a second did I ever feel judged. I can’t express how much Kids Helpline has changed my life for the better."

- young person, 14-16 years old

I buy my ticket because...

Every yourtown Prize Home ticket gives you the chance to win a multi-million-dollar home. But for most supporters, there’s another, more important, reason they buy their tickets – to be there for children and young people when they need it most.

We’d love to hear your story. Tell us why you support yourtown Prize Homes and Kids Helpline.

"I buy my ticket because...

Kids Helpline was there for my son when school was too much."

Why my ticket is so important

Providing hope for you and hope for young people

"I have supported you since my retirement as Principal of a WA District High School in 2000 for a simple reason. Before retiring, I established a small storeroom at my school, equipped with a table, chair, and a telephone that could only connect to Kids Helpline. Teachers could open the door to allow a child at risk to make a private call, ensuring no one at the school could listen, and without informing parents or other students. I am certain this initiative prevented at least six suicides – mostly among girls – and likely more that I am not aware of.” - John, yourtown Prize Home supporter

Will you help us reach them?

Kids Helpline has been answering calls for 35 years. But before a young person can reach out, they have to know we’re here. That’s where you come in.

Parents. Teachers. Coaches. Librarians. Grandparents. The friendly adult next door. We all play a powerful role in spreading the word about Kids Helpline.

You don’t need a megaphone or a social media following. There are lots of simple ways you can help more young people know Kids Helpline is there for them:

  • Put up a poster in your local community – schools, libraries, sports clubs, or even your favourite café.
  • Share a banner in your school or workplace newsletter.
  • Start a conversation with the kids, teens, or young adults in your life.
  • Post about Kids Helpline on your social media – every share helps someone feel less alone.

Because the moment a young person learns about Kids Helpline might be the moment that helps them reach out when they need it most.

HELP US REACH THEM

Thank you for supporting Kids Helpline

Thanks to supporters like you, more young people than ever before know Kids Helpline is there when they need it. Every 90 seconds, a young person contacts Kids Helpline. Today alone, there will be around 800 calls for help.

Because of you, many of those calls will be answered by a counsellor ready to listen.

But there are still young people who don’t know who to turn to. That’s why helping them discover Kids Helpline matters so much. Your tickets make that possible.
